Licenses

A pro-plugin license is tied to your account and unlocks one plugin. Here’s exactly what it grants.

Buy a plugin once and you own it forever — every future version, including major releases, is free. A buyer of stagehand 1.x gets 2.0, 3.0, and every later major at no additional cost. There is no upgrade purchase, ever.

The registry always grants you the current published version of a plugin you own. (Internally we record which version shipped at purchase time, but that record is informational — it never gates your access.)

A license is per-account (single user). Within your own account you can run the plugin on as many tupiflow instances as you control — no extra fee for multi-instance use.

The key is the same whether you self-host or use managed hosting. On a managed instance the key is wired in transparently, so you never have to handle it.

Pro plugins carry a 7-day, no-questions refund. When a refund is processed:

  1. Your license is marked refunded.
  2. The registry’s license check starts returning a failure within the cache window (up to 5 minutes).
  3. Your instance’s next install or upgrade of that plugin fails with a clear “license refunded” message.

Already-installed code keeps running until the next install/upgrade attempt — the refund gates future grants, it doesn’t reach into a running instance.

Managed hosting is non-refundable and follows different rules — see Managed hosting → Cancellation.
